Royals fire longtime front-office executive Moore

The Kansas City Royals, headed into another offseason without a postseason appearance to end the year, fired longtime lead baseball executive Dayton Moore Wednesday, with owner John Sherman making the announcement at a Kauffman Stadium news conference.
