Something is very wrong with the Green Bay Packers.
If you had said GB would be 3-4 to start the 2022 season, it only would have felt real if the Packers had let Aaron Rodgers go amidst all the drama.
Instead, they got him to stay, paid him a bucket load of money and ended up with a losing record after seven games.
Sunday’s game was supposed to be a bounce back effort against the lowly Washington Commanders. It was anything but as Taylor Heinecke led Washington to an unexpected victory.

A quarterback matchup between Rodgers and Heinecke should always favor the former. However, in this case, the Packers offense has things all backwards. Instead of leaning on their running game with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, Green Bay continued to ride their uninspiring passing attack.
Where do Rodgers and his team go from here? A trip to Buffalo next week doesn’t sound like the best opportunity to get back above .500. It may take a Herculean effort from Rodgers to outscore Josh Allen and company.
Truthfully, if Green Bay can lose to Washington, there are no games remaining on the schedule that look particularly safe. Teams like the Lions may be struggling but they could catch Green Bay the way they’re playing right now.
After last week’s loss to the Jets, Rodgers spoke about simplifying things across the board. Clearly, whatever adjustments were made ahead of Sunday’s game weren’t enough.
It’s time to go back to the drawing board, again.
