Everything Dak Prescott said after his first game back from injury

Dak Prescott called his shot against the Detroit Lions and delivered. Here’s everything he had to say after the game, including how his thumb feels.

Dak Prescott chose to come back against the Detroit Lions specifically. If you’re going to call a shot like that, you better deliver.

The Cowboys delivered indeed, winning 24-6. Prescott threw for over 200 yards and a touchdown in his first appearance on the field since he injured his thumb in Week 1 of the season. The Cowboys, who have been buoyed by Cooper Rush, improve to 5-2 in a super competitive NFC East that features three winning teams (the only division that can claim such a feat).

Dallas fans have to be psyched both that Prescott is back and that the Cowboys were able to hold it down while he was gone.

After the game, here’s what Prescott had to say about the win and how he feels.

Here’s what Dak Prescott said following win over Detroit Lions

This isn’t a statement, but he did let out a yell for Trevon Diggs after the game. Diggs had a pick in the win.

Prescott said the thumb didn’t bother him and quickly diverted praise to the team rather than his own performance:

In fact, the thumb was feeling so good that he extended himself further than he otherwise may have:

Dak Prescott said some of his throws into double coverage today were partly because his thumb was feeling good and he was feeling confident: “Some of those throws were overconfident, and I need to guard against that.”

He also praised the rookie class of this year:

Considering the Cowboys had Micah Parsons on the rookie list last year, this is very high praise. The rookies have performed well, several of them even undrafted.

All thought the Cowboys would be down for the count when Prescott went out in Week 1. Nope, they’re still here kicking around, and now that Prescott is back, perhaps opponents have even more to fear.
