3 trades Buccaneers could make so Tom Brady doesn’t regret unretiring

Tom Brady unretired, and you’d be crazy to think he’s not regretting it right now. Here are some trades that can turn the fortunes for the Buccaneers.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers slipped further on Thursday Night Football this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Losing 27-22, Tampa Bay fell to 3-5.

Tom Brady initially decided to retire this offseason, but later changed his mind and opted to come back for at least one more year. Things have… not gone according to plan. You have to assume he’s starting to regret the decision to unretire.

The first year in Tampa was excellent for Brady. He and the team were able to get to the Super Bowl and win it all. The second year they couldn’t get back, losing in the divisional round. Now, it looks like even the postseason might be tough to get to.

The Bucs are helped in part by being in the NFC South, such a bad division that either the Panthers or Falcons are about to lead it with eight weeks in the books.

The trade deadline is coming up on Tuesday, and these trades could help the Bucs right the pirate ship.

Trades to make Tom Brady happy: Get some running back help

Tampa Bay is dead last in yards per carry this season. They’re also one of three teams in the league without a single rush over 20+ yards. Leonard Fournette has been workable, but there’s really nothing strong behind him. Adding a player to create a dual-back threat could take some pressure off Brady and open up play-action opportunities.

There are a number of running backs out there that could be available. Melvin Gordon is hardly getting used in Denver, the Broncos would rather use the newly-acquired Latavius Murray for some reason.

Or maybe the Bucs would prefer Kareem Hunt, who the Browns will probably trade. Maybe Cam Akers? There are options out there in the backfield, and the Bucs need some help in that regard.
