The latest on Kareem Hunt and every Eagles trade deadline rumor, deal [UPDATED]

The Philadelphia Eagles sprung for Robert Quinn, but rumors indicate they’re not finished yet. Here are the latest on trade deadline rumors.

The Philadelphia Eagles are in a thrilling position as the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team, but the vaunted position also comes with unparalleled pressure.

In dodging their first loss, the Eagles need the perfect gameplan, execution and roster. While Philly has easily proven that this roster can win against all sorts of opponents, the Eagles have made it clear that they’re still interested in optimizing their personnel. At the trade deadline, there’s a few remaining storylines that could result in a fairytale ending for Philadelphia.

If the Eagles keep building their 2022 Dream Team, here are the moves that could be on the horizon.

11:00 AM – The Eagles have their eye on Browns RB Kareem Hunt

Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano reiterated what other NFC East insiders have hinted at as the trade deadline approaches: Eagles general manager Howie Roseman may not be done quite yet.

Vacchiano has heard the same rumor that others have in that the Eagles are interested in stacking their running back room with a high-powered, pass-catching back. The door with Christian McCaffrey is already closed, and the addition of McCaffrey has revitalized the San Francisco 49ers offense. Although the Eagles are already quite dynamic, they’re interested in what Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt could add to their offense.

As of now, the Eagles don’t have a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. They do have a third-rounder, then the Eagles don’t pick again until the seventh round. However, there are potentially two fourth-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft (if a Minnesota pick doesn’t fall to the fifth round) and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While they don’t have the specific fourth-round capital this year, they do have it in future years, making a potential trade for Hunt within reach.

9:00 AM – The Eagles could spring for Colts RB Nyheim Hines

This morning, PFF’s Doug Kyed affirmed what ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday night: there are multiple teams interested in dynamic RB/WR/PR Nyheim Hines.

Kyed elaborated, stating that the Bills and Rams are two top destinations. Apparently, the Eagles are also in the mix.

“The Philadelphia Eagles showed interest in Hines in the past, according to a source, and head coach Nick Sirianni was the Colts’ offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2020,” Kyed reported.

With the Rams at 3-4, it makes sense that the Bills and Eagles would be looking closely into acquiring Hines by the deadline. Even though the Eagles already have Miles Sanders, “they’re not shy about adding pieces as the NFC’s top team at 7-0,” according to Kyed.

There’s also the established connection between Sirianni and Hines, which could be a deciding factor in whether or not the Eagles push for this specific trade.

The Sirianni connection to Indianapolis has been overlooked in the past, and it wouldn’t mark the first time a former offensive coordinator has sought out a player from their former team.
