The Philadelphia Eagles finally lost a game — losing to Washington — and here’s how it impacts the NFC Playoff Picture and NFC Wild Card Standings. 

Week 10 was truly a wild on for the NFL Playoff Picture with serious movement on the brink in the NFC.

After Sunday the Minnesota Vikings were the talk of the league, and now they’re in a prime position to control the conference following what happened on Monday Night Football. The Philadelphia Eagles finally lost, falling to the Washington Commanders in a game where the Eagles looked as mortal as they have all season long.

Turnovers were fatal for Philly, and a 10-point swing on those mistakes ended up being the difference in a 26-21 loss.

There are two pretty seismic things that happened as a result of the upset by Washington beyond the obvious first loss by Philadelphia. The Commanders are now the first team out of the Wild Card bubble, sitting at 5–5 and a half-game behind the San Francisco 49ers for the No. 7 seed.

Let that sink in for a second: We are a half-game away from living in a world where every single NFC East team is in the playoffs.

However, the bigger thing that happened is the Vikings are now within a game of the No. 1 seed and the margin for error in Philadelphia just shrunk significantly. Despite the loss, the Eagles have a bit of breathing room thanks to a tiebreaker they have over Minnesota by way of a Week 2 win.
