Aaron Rodgers’ visit with Make-A-Wish recipient ended with broken thumb news breaking to media

A Make-A-Wish recipient was actually the first to break the news that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his thumb.

The Green Bay Packers are 4-7 on the year, as the offense hasn’t necessarily been playing up to its potential. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been playing his usual football this season compared to his NFL MVP-winning campaigns the past two years. Some credited it to a right thumb injury suffered back in the team’s Week 5 game against the New York Giants. From there, the debate began about whether the thumb was actually broken, which Rodgers wouldn’t confirm or deny on “The Pat McAfee Show” this Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Rodgers confirmed that his right thumb is broken and that he’s been playing through it since Week 5 when speaking with the media.

It is important to note that this confirmed what Branden, also known as “Big B” of the Underage Packers Podcast, tweeted out on Nov. 18 following his visit with the team. Big B said that he asked Rodgers how his finger was feeling, to which the quarterback responded that it was “actually broken.”

During the aforementioned media session, Rodgers confirmed that he broke his thumb on the final play of the Giants game, where he was hit in the arm from behind by linebacker Oshane Ximines when attempting a pass deep downfield.

Rodgers said he didn’t expect to undergo surgery for the thumb, citing that it was feeling better at the time he met with the media on Wednesday.

This season, Rodgers completed 64.6-percent of his passes while throwing for 2,542 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 11 games.

The Packers look to get their second win in three weeks when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles, who got off to a 8-0 start before their loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 10.
