Latest Cowboys roster move will only increase Super Bowl chances

The Dallas Cowboys are getting healthier, which only strengthens their chances of contending for the Super Bowl.

The Dallas Cowboys were the final team to meet with free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., but nothing has transpired yet in terms of a deal. In recent weeks, the Cowboys offense has been on fire, as evidenced last week when they blew out the Indianapolis Colts.

It’s well known that the Cowboys are getting healthier, as evidenced by left tackle Tyron Smith getting closer to a return at some point. The offense received even better news on Saturday.

According to NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys have activated wide receiver James Washington from the injured reserve, and is expected to play in Dallas’ game against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

James Washington activated from IR, expected to make Cowboys debut in Week 14

This past offseason, the Cowboys made two notable in-house moves in regards to the wide receiving corps. They opted to re-sign Michael Gallup to a five-year contract, while trading away Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns. The team did make an outside free agent signing to add to the depth chart in Washington, the former Pittsburgh Steeler.

Washington was slotted in to be the No. 3 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb and Gallup, but he was sidelined before the season even started. During training camp, Washington had to be carted off the football field after landing awkwardly on his right foot while attempting to make a catch. It was later revealed that Washington broke his foot, and he was sidelined ever since.

Now that he’s cleared to play, Washington will be making his debut for Dallas. In his four years with the Steelers, Washington caught 114 passes for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns on 218 targets.

The Cowboys are only getting healthier while already performing like one of the best offenses in the NFL, which should be concerning for any team that stands in their way for the rest of the season.
