49ers get terrific injury update on Deebo Samuel after scary scene
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel did not suffer as scary an injury as feared and could be back sooner than expected.
When the cart comes out, you fear the worst, and the San Francisco 49ers certainly felt that way with their superstar wideout Deebo Samuel.
Despite their 35-7 domination over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, all eyes were on No. 19 and his health. The good news is that the injury is not as bad as feared, and Deebo could be back on the field before the regular season.
Talk about relief. No matter who the player is, you hate to see someone have their season cut short by injury, especially a player like Deebo, who is class personified and, quite possibly, the machine that makes the 49ers’ offense go. Yes, Brock Purdy is a nice story, and Christian McCaffrey is strolling well, but it’s Deebo who runs the show.
49ers avoid massive injury scare with Deebo Samuel
As it currently stands, the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles are the teams ahead of San Francisco in the NFC. However, a legitimate argument could be made that the 49ers should be favored over both teams. The league’s best defense combined with an offense that, regardless of who is at quarterback, makes plays to win.
Do we expect Brock Purdy to take the 49ers to the Super Bowl? Probably not. But in this day and age, who knows what could happen? If that does come to fruition and the 49ers wind up with the Lombardi, it would be one of the most miraculous stories, and Deebo coming back could make that fairytale come true.
For now, it’s a massive sigh of relief for the Red and Gold that Deebo will be okay and return. It would be best to let him rest the final four games so that he can be at full strength going into the playoffs and help the 49ers get to Glendale.
