Kate Middleton Wears Sparkling Red Christmas Gown For the Together At Christmas Service

The Princess of Wales has offered her followers a preview of her Christmas carol service to air on ITV on December 15. Kate Middleton was dressed festively for the occasion at Westminster Abbey, where she led the event for the second year in a row. In her first official portrait from the evening, Kate wore a familiar look by Needle & Thread, which she also sported in January 2020 at a state reception. The sparkling red gown featured lacy, semi-sheer sleeves with floral appliqués and a cinched bodice.

The princess left her hair down in smooth waves and wore very natural makeup with minimal accessories. She is standing in a cozy room decorated for Christmas with a tree behind her and some gift-wrapped packages on the floor. In her Instagram Stories, Kate shared a “behind the scenes” shot of the image, revealing the lights and camera capturing the moment.

It is likely that Kate will be performing at this year’s concert. She performed before with Scottish musician Tom Walker, playing “For Those Who Can’t Be Here” on the piano to accompany the singer.

This year’s service pays homage to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who just died in September. Last year’s event was dedicated to those who supported their communities in the COVID-19 pandemic. The Westminster Abbey’s famous choir will be performing this year, along with several other musical performances.

“This year’s carol service is dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the values Her Majesty demonstrated throughout her life, including duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion and support for others,” said a press release on the event. “These principles are shared and personified by the inspirational guests who have been invited to the Abbey in recognition of their tireless work to help and care for those around them.”
