Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Share Sweet New Photos and Details of Lilibet in Their Docuseries
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry briefly touch on their family’s newest addition, one-year-old Lilibet “Lili” Diana, in the last episode of their Harry & Meghan docuseries. They discuss who she resembles so far, how they felt after her birth, and their hopes for Lili as she grows up. The couple also shared so many never-before-seen photos of their little girl, including photos and videos from the day she was born: June 4, 2021.
Meghan says that after suffering a miscarriage during her second pregnancy, welcoming Lili made the family feel complete.
“There was something that felt so complete once we had Lilibet,” she explains. “Everyone just really respected that we had been through so much. And that we, like any other parent, deserve to just welcome their child into the world peacefully and have that time as a family to nurture and cocoon. Which we did with the addition of our little toddler [Lili’s older brother Archie].”
Harry also shares that their daughter is starting to resemble his mother, Princess Diana. “I think at the moment I see a lot of my wife in Archie, and I see a lot of my mom in Lili,” he says. “She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes.”
“Blue, blue, blue eyes,” Meghan adds.
“Sort of like a golden reddish hair…” Harry continues.
At one point in the episode, Tyler Perry, who lent his Los Angeles home to Harry and Meghan after their royal exit, even reveals the couple asked him to be Lili’s godfather.
Now that the Sussexes are all settled in Montecito, California, Harry says he now considers America to be his family’s home. “Just seeing Archie running across the lawn with this big smile, this is the world that he knows,” he says. “He spent his first five months in Windsor. That was it. This is home to him. This is home to Lili. And this is our home. I get to do things with our kids I never would be able to do in the UK.”
“A part of what’s beautiful here is the freedom to have family moments out in the world and I want our kids to be able to do that and be able to travel and to fall in love, you know?” Meghan adds later. “I just want them to be happy.”
“The world that they see is how I would love the world to be,” Harry says. “They don’t need to worry about the things that we worry about.”
