Refs stop Bills-Dolphins game over fans throwing snowballs: Best memes and tweets

The snow in Buffalo did become a factor during the Bills game against the Dolphins with snowballs forcing a stoppage in play.

Throughout the day, NFL fans and media wondered how the weather would impact Saturday night’s game between the Bills and the Dolphins.

There was snow on the field during the game, but none of it fell out of the sky naturally. It all seemed to come from the stands where fans were packing snowballs to chuck onto the field.

The refs were not happy about that one.

In the second quarter, they stopped the game to inform fans that snowball throwing would be punished…and the Bill themselves would pay the price.

Fans were threatened with a 15-yard penalty going against the Bills, so of course, Twitter suggested that Dolphins fans should take one for their team.

That would mean risking arrest and a fine, so it’s best that Miami fans in the crowd resist the urge unless they want their trip north to end with a trip to jail.

The Dolphins opened the scoring with a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter. That was quickly answered by Josh Allen with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Quintin Morris.

Miami kicker Jason Sanders booted another field goal to start the second quarter. A few minutes later, Allen found paydirt again with a touchdown to Nydeim Hines from 10 yards out.

Salvon Ahmed made things interesting three minutes from halftime with an 11-yard touchdown run for the Dolphins. Bills fans had to restrain themselves from throwing snow after that one.

They did less restraining after Allen tossed a touchdown to James Cook as time ran out in the second quarter.
