These three NFL coaches didn’t do themselves any favors after their team’s performances in Week 15.

Week 15 of the NFL season is almost in the books, and there was plenty of worthy storylines this week. From the Minnesota Vikings overcoming a 33-0 deficit to defeat the Indianapolis Colts to the Buffalo Bills beating the Miami Dolphins in a snow globe game.

The majority of Week 15 took place on Sunday, with the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams left to play. There were some great coaching efforts, such as Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions beating the New York Jets on a late touchdown, and Doug Pederson’s Jacksonville Jaguars defeating the Dallas Cowboys in overtime.

When it comes to coaches who didn’t live up to their end of the bargain, these three may need to update their resumes.

Coaches who need to update their resume after Week 15: Jeff Saturday, Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay tried something new in terms of replacing Frank Reich for the rest of the end of the season. Instead of promoting an assistant from within, he decided to hire former center and ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday to be the interim coach.

Entering Week 15, Saturday had a 1-3 record on the season, his lone win being his debut against the Las Vegas Raiders. His fourth loss of the season is absolutely brutal, and could very well have Colts brass revisiting how they will approach their coaching search this offseason.

The Colts had a 33-0 lead, one that no team in NFL history was able to overcome. That was until the Vikings played against Saturday’s Colts. Minnesota outscored Indianapolis 36-3 to force overtime, and with just seconds remaining in overtime, Greg Joseph hit a game-winning, 40-yard field goal.

Besides the team surrendering 39 points since halftime, the Colts were penalized 11 times for 103 yards.

Simply put, Irsay needs to ace his coaching search. Get the best head coach candidate possible, whether that is a coordinator or someone with head coaching experience.
