AFC Playoff Picture shifts after Raiders stun Patriots in Week 15
Let’s check in on the AFC Playoff Picture and AFC Wild Card standings after that stunning ending to the Patriots-Raiders game in Week 15.
This weekend should forever be remembered as the Weekend of the Comeback.
It didn’t matter what sport it was, or what country we were watching football, it was impossibly foolish to count anything out until things were certain — and even then there was a chance something could break the other way.
The weekend started with the Minnesota Vikings erasing a 33-0 deficit to stun the Indianapolis Colts, saw the Bills comeback against the Dolphins, and the Bengals score 34 unanswered points after galling into a 17-0 hole to the Buccaneers.
Even the other form of football saw an epic comeback. France scored two goals in less than two minutes in an all-time World Cup Final, one that saw Lionel Messi and Argentina come back to win.
It’s hard to rank which comeback was the best, but the Las Vegas Raiders made a pretty great case while closing out Sunday’s NFL action. Vegas scored a walk-off touchdown with the game tied when New England decided to pitch the ball around rather than end regulation and play for overtime.
To b a fly on the wall of the Patriots locker room that Bill Belichick probably destroyed in a fit of rage.
That insane ending has a huge impact on the NFL Playoff Picture on the AFC side of things.
