Jets legend piles on Zach Wilson after boo-filled Thursday Night

New York Jets legend Darrelle Revis didn’t hold back on his critique of quarterback Zach Wilson and his inability to produce.

Darrelle Revis is as real as it gets. The former star cornerback for the New York Jets doesn’t mince words about players, including quarterback Zach Wilson.

After several terrible performances, the former No. 2 overall pick was relegated to backup duty for Mike White. With White out of the mix because of injury, Wilson came back in for the loss to Detroit.

However, Wilson was downright dreadful against fellow draft mate Trevor Lawerence and the Jacksonville Jaguars, going 9-of-18 for 92 yards and a pick before being benched for Chris Streveler. The game was so bad that Revis could not hold back much longer.

It’s not just Revis, the fanbase seems to have had enough, and social media was having a field day as well, with Wilson being listed as a potential all-time draft bust, joining the likes of Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell.

Darrelle Revis eviscerated Zach Wilson after disastrous performance against the Jaguars.

It may be hindsight, but it looks like the New York Jets made a historic blunder yet again, and teams like the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots should be thanking them. The former landed with Justin Fields, and the latter ended with Mac Jones. San Francisco ended up with Trey Lance.

Lance is injured, so we can’t say much, but Jones has shown that with a competent play-caller, he can make the Patriots better. Fields needs more weapons and protection, and it is possible that he and Lawrence can be the elite dudes from their draft class. Wilson? There is not even a glimmer of hope unless there is a cougar sighting.

The Jets have all the pieces of talent around Wilson, but he looks so overwhelmed, and that single Pro Day might have had the Jets tantalized for the wrong reasons. Darrelle Revis seems to think so, and he’s as straightforward as it gets. Once again, the Jets messed up, so the quarterback ineptitude pattern continues.
