Patriots fan screamed at by Raiders fan in viral video vindicated by Robert Kraft himself

A Patriots fan who was harassed by a Raiders fan in Las Vegas is getting rewarded for keeping his cool in the coolest possible way.

Going into an NFL stadium as an away fan can be a stressful experience. The vast majority of fans leave each other alone. Unfortunately, the obnoxious ones are often impossible to ignore.

Patriots fan Jerry Edmund ran into one such terrible example of fandom when he attended Sunday’s dramatic game between New England and Las Vegas.

A Raiders fan next to Edmund got in his face and mocked him after the Patriots blew it on the final play. But Edmund didn’t take the bait. He stood there calmly and didn’t let the situation escalate. It was so impressive that the video of the incident went viral.

Now, Edmund is being rewarded for keeping his cool. Patriots owner Robert Kraft personally invited him to Saturday’s game against the Bengals.

It’s great to see a fan who did all the right things get something in return. It’s great to see a team stand by one of their fans for representing their fanbase the right way. Kudos to Edmund and kudos to the Patriots.

Along with the invite to the game, Edmund is going to get a customized jersey and pregame field passes.

On Twitter, Edmund said the game in Las Vegas was his first NFL game. His second will be at Gillette Stadium with fellow Pats fans surrounding him.

The next question is whether or not he’ll get to see a victory on his second try.

The Patriots need it. The loss to the Raiders dropped them to 7-7, one place outside of the last AFC Wild Card spot. Along with the Bengals, New England’s final opponents of the regular season include the Dolphins and the Bills. It’ll be a fight to the end to see the postseason.
