Kate Middleton Reportedly Feels the Netflix Doc Was a 'Betrayal'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, has supposedly had quite an effect on the royal family. They were apparently not expecting some of the stories and accusations that came from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the six-part doc about their lives. A source told Us Weekly on Thursday that Kate Middleton is one person who feels “betrayed” by the situation.
“Kate feels hurt and betrayed that Harry would do this to her, too, especially as the pair used to be so close,” they said.
As for Harry’s brother, the Prince of Wales, he “isn’t planning to give his side of the story or openly retaliate.”
The insider added, “He’s remaining dignified and is getting on with the job.”
Another source told Page Six that William and Kate haven’t watched the series.
“William and Kate’s aides have briefed them on the show, but don’t expect the couple to sit down in their cottage with a bowl of popcorn to tune in themselves,” the insider said.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are mentioned quite a bit in the series, most unflatteringly in a story about how William was “bullying” Meghan and Harry out of the family and being verbally aggressive with his brother. The Sussexes stepped back from their role as working members of the royal family in January 2020, then officially quit in February 2021 after allegedly trying to reach some sort of agreement with the monarchy about their duties. Meghan had been a target of the press for some time, and was experiencing extreme mental pressure affecting her health and sense of safety.
The couple then moved to California, where they continue to live and raise their two children, three-year-old son Archie, and their one-year-old daughter Lilibet.
