Aaron Rodgers has complete meltdown after missing wide open receiver (Video)
So much for Aaron Rodgers keeping his cool with playoff elimination on the line. The Packers quarterback freaked out when he missed Christian Watson on a deep ball.
It’s tough to know what Aaron Rodgers was thinking while walking back to the sideline after a brutal missed deep ball to rookie wide receiver Christian Watson. Whatever it was, it led to a meltdown of epic proportions.
No. 12 and Watson have formed an important connection for Green Bay as they have managed to scratch and claw their way back into some form of postseason contention. At 6-8, Green Bay is technically in the hunt.
Should the Packers lose to the Dolphins on Christmas, it would all but eliminate them from the playoffs.
That’s what made a missed deep ball to Watson which could’ve resulted in a touchdown all the more painful.
Packers are desperate, and Aaron Rodgers isn’t helping
Should Green Bay lose on Sunday it could pave the way for Jordan Love to start the remaining two games on the Packers schedule. Aaron Rodgers previously gave his blessing — if you can call it that — for Love to play in meaningless games, if the Packers have any of those down the stretch.
Rodgers enjoyed watching Love play in steed of him against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Utah State product played perhaps his best football to date, showing what the Packers see in him as a former first-round selection.
“It was really nice to watch,” Rodgers said. “I feel like an older brother watching him do well. I care about the kid a lot. Fun to see his growth, fun to see him just kind of relax out there.”
If Green Bay does lose to the Dolphins, Love will receive some reps down the stretch. It also could open pandora’s box as to what Rodgers and the Packers will do after the season.
