Best Monday Night Football same game parlay picks for Chargers vs. Colts

One of the things my family does for Christmas is give each other scratch-off tickets.

I get them in my stocking, take them to my grandma’s house, and I even won a Christmas trivia game for a prize of a 10-dollar scratcher.

In total, I got 11 scratch-offs yesterday and won a whopping total of five dollars.  Instead of taking my money and running, being the gambler that I am, I’m reinvesting it into a Monday Night Football SGP.

A same game parlay is a lot like a lottery ticket. You spend a little and hope to win a lot, except it’s not a game of luck because I’ve got the answers to the test.

I’ve put together a four-leg SGP for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts, but before we get to those picks, let’s take a look at the odds for Monday Night Football at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts have had a long layoff since their last game, nine days ago, but they probably would’ve rather been back in action the next day to try and get the bad taste out of their mouth after blowing a 33-0 lead to Minnesota. They were on the receiving end of the biggest comeback in NFL history in the 39-36 OT loss. Now, they’ll host LA at 4-9-1. The Chargers are 8-6 and can clinch the playoffs with a win tonight.

If you’re looking for specific player props to wager on outside of a SGP, you can find BetSided’s Ben Heisler’s top three plays HERE.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, this four-leg SGP pays out +581; meaning a $25 dollar bet would pay out $145.44. Not bad for a day after Christmas present.

Best same game parlay picks for Chargers vs. Colts

  • Chargers -205 vs. Colts
  • Deon Jackson OVER 31.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
  • Keenan Allen Alternate Receiving Yards 50+ (-200)
  • Alternate Total OVER 40.5 (-230)

Chargers -205 vs. Colts

There have been times that I’ve questioned Brandon Staley’s coaching acumen, but I think he’s starting to prove himself in the role at least a little bit.

Jeff Saturday on the other hand has not and likely will never prove himself to be fit for the position.

The past two weeks have been disastrous, as they were on the receiving end of a fourth quarter explosion against the Dallas Cowboys in a 54-19 loss and then allowed the biggest comeback in NFL history against the Minnesota Vikings. Both in standalone games.

What disaster will this team have in store for us tonight, especially with Nick Foles in at QB?

Deon Jackson Over 31.5 Rushing Yards

While Staley might be proving himself to be a decent head coach, he hangs his hat on the defensive side of the football. Yet they still can’t quite stop the run, allowing 5.4 yards per carry for the worst in the NFL.

When Jonathan Taylor went out last week, Zack Moss primarily took over as RB1, but Jackson was involved and is primarily their third down back. I expect Indianapolis to run more out of the shotgun with Foles in at QB, as that’s how he’s had the most success in his career and that’ll likely means Jackson taking more snaps throughout the game.

Keenan Allen Alternate Receiving Yards 50+

Justin Herbert has to be thrilled to have Keenan Allen back and mostly healthy. Allen isn’t on the injury report this week which is great news after his eight catches for 86 yards last week.

In his last five games, Allen has seen eight targets, then seven, 14, 14, and nine. He’ll probably see about 10 targets tonight and finish with about seven catches for 78 yards.

Alternate Total Over 40.5 (-230)

Remember when I told you how the last two Colts games ended?

This defense is on life support and can’t wait for somebody to pull the plug. Even the Steelers’ abysmal offense put up 24 points on them.

The Chargers could hit this total on their own, but if not we could get a little magic from BDN himself.
