After the 2022 season is over, the Las Vegas Raiders could be in for an overhaul. These three players likely won’t be back for the 2023 campaign.

This season was supposed to be a juggernaut season for the AFC West. The Las Vegas Raiders were supposed to contend for playoff positioning, but instead, it’s the same old story.

The Chiefs are the Chiefs, the Chargers are inconsistent and injury-plagued, and the Broncos still can’t find the answer at quarterback — who saw that coming?

Meanwhile, the Raiders have plenty of issues to address when the offseason officially opens up. Decisions must be made, and specifically on which players this team is going to build around.

When the 2023 campaign rolls around, the Raiders will cut ties with three notable names, in particular.

Raiders players who won’t be back next season: Clelin Ferrell

The Raiders already declined the fifth-year option on former first-rounder Clelin Ferrell, so he already has a foot out the door. But, there are plenty of reasons why he shouldn’t be back.

The biggest reason is the fact that Las Vegas already has so much money tied up in Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones. These two guys can still be a big part of the future of this team and a couple of anchors on defense. They wouldn’t throw more money at a third pass rusher with Jones and Crosby under contract.

Instead, Las Vegas will use that money on other positions of need.

Additionally, Ferrell hasn’t lived up to his billing. He’s not great, or even above average, at rushing the passer or stopping the run. Vegas will likely allow another team to overpay for a guy who was once drafted 4th overall back in 2019.
