Has Lamar Jackson played his last game with the Baltimore Ravens?

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s status for Week 18 is once again in doubt due to a knee injury.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson entered this season in the final year of his rookie contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He played for three-quarters of the season, up until he suffered a knee injury back in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos. He has not played in the team’s next four games. Could there be a return for the team’s regular-season finale?

Jackson did not practice on Wednesday ahead of their Week 18 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. When asked about Jackson’s status, head coach John Harbaugh said “I’m just going to leave all that stuff alone and focus on the game and have the guys ready for the game.”

With Jackson’s status for Week 18 in doubt, what are the odds he can participate in the playoffs?

Will Lamar Jackson play in Ravens playoff games?

Jackson’s status for the playoffs is currently unknown. Back on Jan. 2, Harbaugh was asked whether the quarterback may not have enough time to get ready for the playoffs.

“I just can’t think about that,” Harbaugh said, h/t the Ravens’ official website. “I’m just going to listen to the doctors and to Lamar and we’ll prepare. The offense is not going to change dramatically between Lamar and Tyler.”

Long story short, fans and media alike should get a better picture of Jackson’s status for the playoffs in the coming days.

As mentioned, Jackson is in the final year of his rookie deal and could become an unrestricted free agent. Of course, the Ravens could opt to place the franchise tag on him. If the team were to place the exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, he would earn over $45 million for the 2023 season. That means Jackson would not be able to negotiate with other teams.

This season, Jackson has recorded 2,242 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, and seven interceptions while completing 62.3 percent of his passes in 12 games. Jackson also ran for 764 yards and three touchdowns on 112 carries.

The only thing that can be said is we won’t know about Jackson’s playoff status until we get closer to that time. The first hint could come after the regular-season finale.
