Justin Fields reveals how involved he’ll be in offseason personnel decisions

The Chicago Bears have a busy offseason ahead of them, and franchise quarterback Justin Fields has come out and spoken about how involved he will be in the decisions to come.

The offseason has barely begun for the Chicago Bears, and already, questions are surfacing about quarterback Justin Fields. The franchise is in a unique position with the No. 1 overall pick and cap space to work with.

Coming off a losing season, the Bears are trying to find a way to get back in contention not just for the NFC North but for a championship as well. The plan starts with Fields, whom the franchise has secured for now. The rest of the roster is a question.

During his exit press conference, Fields was asked about what role he would have, if at all, in terms of the roster building, and Fields, according to Courtney Cronin, made it abundantly clear where he stands.

Justin Fields trusts Bears GM Ryan Poles

Justin Fields comments prove he understands that this staff and this organization believe in him and are committed to doing things the right way. Ryan Poles didn’t do much last season, but a legitimate argument can be made it was due to the incompetence of Ryan Pace.

With over $100 million in cap space, the Bears have the ammunition to go out and pay the most money to whatever free agent they wish to acquire for their roster. However, Poles has made it very clear that he wants to build through the draft. With the No. 1 overall pick at his disposal, it is possible the Bears trade that pick to get more resources.

It is also possible that Chicago keeps the top overall pick and instead trades their other selections in the draft to acquire more to build this team. Whatever the case is, the Bears are in a strong position to help Justin Fields out. He knows that, and he is willing to provide help in his own way to ensure this team gets better.
