Odell Beckham Jr. responds to footage of airline incident in Twitter rant

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. went on a rant on Twitter responding to leaked footage of his airline incident from last November.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was the talk of the NFL late in the season as he went on free agent visits to interested teams. But in November, Beckham’s free agent tour was overshadowed after he was removed from a flight at Miami International Airport for not following the flight crew’s directives to fasten his seatbelt. Additionally, the crew said that Beckham was in and out of consciousness.

On Wednesday, WPLG Local 10 News released body camera footage from the Miami-Dade Police Department of the Beckham incident. The footage showed Beckham being medically evaluated by officers, and was asked to leave the plane voluntarily, or that everyone on the flight would be deplaned. Beckham said “that’s fine,” and got into an argument with a passenger as they all exited the plane.

One day later, Beckham responded to the release of the footage on Twitter, sending out a variety of tweets.

“…can’t address everything in this world, it’s exhausting,” wrote Beckham. “Errbody got an opinion on situations they weren’t involved in. All u can do is kno who u truly are. Purell only kills 99.9% of germs…there’s always gon be a lil left over.”

Beckham got into an argument with a passenger as they were taken off of the plane since he refused to leave voluntarily. The wide receiver said, “that s— don’t mean nothing to me,” Beckham said. “You gonna wait 40 minutes and I’ll be on a private plane home.” At the end of the argument, Beckham said “enjoy the cheese board.”

The wide receiver referenced the cheese board comment in one of his many tweets, saying “I know who I am. Period. All the rest and opinions don’t matter to me. Have a blessed day and enjoy the cheese board.

Beckham then took time to criticize the footage, saying that anyone can cut up and edit a video to make someone look “good or bad.”

“My favorite least favorite thing about this worlds besides people who don’t kno what they’re talkin bout.. is we can cut up any video however we want to make it loook exactly how we want GOOD or BAD,” wrote Beckham. “Funny world we live in . No [cap].”

Beckham last played in Super Bowl 56 for the Los Angeles Rams, where he tore his ACL in the first half. He visited with teams like the New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys, but no deal had been reached with any of these teams.
