NFL Playoff Bracket after 49ers blow through Seahawks

Here’s what the NFL playoff bracket looks like after the San Francisco 49ers blew out the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round.

Despite their injuries at the quarterback position, the San Francisco 49ers were able to clinch the No. 2 seed thanks in part to the play of rookie signal caller Brock Purdy, and their overall stacked roster across the offense and defense. Looking to make a run back to the Super Bowl, they first had to get past the rival Seattle Seahawks.

While the 49ers did trail 17-16 at halftime, they completely dominated the Seahawks in the second half, walking away with the 41-23 victory.

In the game, Purdy completed 18-of-30 pass attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns, running back Christian McCaffrey picked up 136 yards and a touchdown from scrimmage on 17 touches, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel caught six passes for 133 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.

With the 49ers advancing to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, let’s take a look at the updated NFL playoff bracket.

NFL Playoff bracket after 49ers advance out of Wild Card Round

NFC

Let’s take a look at the NFC side of the bracket after San Francisco’s win over Seattle. Important to note that the Philadelphia Eagles have a first-round bye.

  • (2) San Francisco 49ers def. (7) Seattle Seahawks 41-23
  • (3) Minnesota Vikings vs. (6) New York Giants
  • (4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. (5) Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles will play the lowest remaining seed in the NFC that makes it out of the Wild Card Round. That leaves the 49ers with three possible opponents in the Divisional Round.

If the Vikings are to defeat the Giants, they will head to San Francisco to play the 49ers. But if the Vikings lose, then the 49ers will play the winner of the Buccaneers vs. Cowboys game, while the Giants would face the Eagles.

AFC

Now, let’s look at the AFC side of the bracket:

  • (2) Buffalo Bills vs. (7) Miami Dolphins
  • (3) Cincinnati Bengals vs. (6) Baltimore Ravens
  • (4) Jacksonville Jaguars vs. (5) Los Angeles Chargers

There will be a much clearer picture on the AFC side once these three games are played. All that is confirmed right now is that the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs will play the lowest remaining seed in the AFC that advances out of the Wild Card Round.
