The time has arrived for Minnesota Vikings playoff football. Yes, the Vikes have done it. The franchise that many times lets their fan base down in the second half of the season has stayed the course and finished as the No. 3 seed in the NFC, winning the NFC North in addition.

This coming Sunday afternoon, the Vikings will host the New York Giants in the Wild Card Round. Kickoff will be scheduled for 4:30 ET at U.S. Bank Stadium.

This matchup could be a blessing and a curse for both teams, as they recently played one another less than a month ago. It was a close game, but the Vikings hold the edge since they’ll have the home-field advantage.

Before the game takes place, though, we try and dive into some bold predictions for what should be a great contest.

1. The Vikings will take the lead and never give it back

This is something the Vikings have struggled with this year. They are notorious for having pulled off one-score games, whether it be due to coming back in the second half or barely hanging onto a lead they pulled out too early on.

The Giants held a brief lead in their first matchup when they went up 13-10, but after that, Minnesota never trailed. Now, the Vikings did score first in that matchup as well, when T.J. Hockenson caught a 12-yard touchdown from Kirk Cousins in the first quarter.

To be fair, the Giants did tie it up late in the game with a score of 24-24, but the Vikings prevailed on a field goal of course.

Vikings fans have been waiting for a dominant performance in a meaningful game, and they will get it in this one.
