Updated NFL Playoff bracket after Bengals survive Ravens

Taking a look at the updated NFL Playoff bracket for the 2023 postseason with only one game left in Super Wild Card Weekend after the Bengals topped the Ravens.

On the heels of the drama on Saturday night with the Jaguars coming back to beat the Chargers, Sunday’s three-game slate for Super Wild Card Weekend in the 2023 NFL Playoffs had big shoes to fill. But as the NFL Playoff bracket began to take a clearer shape on Sunday, we got plenty of great action.

After the Bills outlasted a feisty Dolphins team in Buffalo and then the Giants upended the Vikings (thanks largely to a Kirk Cousins miscue), we came down to the Bengals and Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Even with Lamar Jackson out for Baltimore, they gave Cincinnati all they could handle, including having a chance to tie the game in the final seconds.

Backup Tyler Huntley couldn’t make it happen, though, and last year’s AFC representatives in the Super Bowl stayed alive. So with one game left, it’s time to check out the updated 2023 NFL Playoff bracket.

AFC Playoff Bracket

AFC Wild Card Round

  • (2) Buffalo Bills, 34 def. (7) Miami Dolphins, 31
  • (6) Baltimore Ravens at (3) Cincinnati Bengals
  • (4) Jacksonville Jaguars, 31 def. (5) Los Angeles Chargers, 30

AFC Divisional Round

  • (3) Cincinnati Bengals at (2) Buffalo Bills
  • (4) Jacksonville Jaguars at (1) Kansas City Chiefs

We now have the full playoff bracket set in the AFC for the Divisional Round with all three games for Wild Card weekend concluding.

There were no surprises in the Wild Card games in the conference, though. The Jaguars avoided getting upset, as did the Bengals and Bills. As such, it’ll be the Jags going on the road to Arrowhead for a date with the top-seeded Chiefs while the Bengals will head to the road as well, traveling to the tundra in Buffalo for a matchup against the Bills. Joe Burrow vs. Josh Allen, anyone?

NFC Playoff Bracket

NFC Wild Card Round

  • (2) San Francisco 49ers, 41 def. (7) Seattle Seahawks, 23
  • (6) New York Giants, 31 def. (3) Minnesota Vikings, 24
  • (5) Dallas Cowboys at (4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Monday, Jan. 16, 8:15 p.m. ET

NFC Divisional Round

  • (6) New York Giants at (1) Philadelphia Eagles
  • (5) Dallas Cowboys/(4)Tampa Bay Buccaneers winner at (2) San Francisco 49ers

While there is still one NFC game left to be played, the Giants pulling off the upset on Sunday afternoon in Minnesota over the Vikings set up the matchups for the Divisional Round. The Eagles will see a familiar face as the G-Men will travel to Philadelphia to face the No. 1 seed next week while the 49ers, off of their emphatic win over rival Seattle, will host the winner of Monday night’s Wild Card Rond finale between the Cowboys and Buccaneers.
