NFL Divisional Round games to bet before the lines move
Believe it or not, it’s already time to look ahead at the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.
Betting on game as soon as possible is generally a good strategy when it comes to betting on the NFL. That way, you can hopefully jump on favorable odds before they shift as the week goes on.
Let’s take a look at the odds for the Divisional Round games and then I’ll break down two games you should bet on sooner rather than late.
NFL Divisional Round odds
Eagles -7 vs. Giants
I’m actually not going to advise you which side to bet on this game, but instead I’ll just tell you that you shouldn’t wait to bet on whichever side you’re on.
If you’re on the Eagles and you think the “sharp” bettors agree with your opinion, then bet on Philadelphia now at -7 before it raises above the magic number of seven. Getting the spread exactly at seven is much better than getting it at -7.5, despite it only being half a point. Just look at this weekend’s Bengals vs. Ravens game. That half a point would’ve been the difference between a push and a loss.
With that being said, if you love the Giants this week and then the pros are on New York as well, then take that +7 number before it dips below seven, for the same reasons that I stated above.
For myself, I’m on the Eagles so I jumped on Philadelphia at -7 and I’m going to hope/expect that the number will rise to -7.5 or -8 but the end of the week.
Bills -4 vs. Bengals
The line for this game opened at -3.5, but quickly ballooned to -4. That tells me if there isn’t any surprising injury news this week, the only way the line is going to move is up. So, if you like the Bills, take them now.
The line won’t move all the way up to the next key number of seven, but still, every point and half point could be important. Four isn’t as key of a number as three or seven, but it’s what I consider a “secondary” key number. Why? Because the difference between seven and three is four.
Grabbing the Bills at -4 instead of -4.5 or -5 could be pivotal, so don’t hesitate if you like Buffalo this weekend.
