Packers fans troll Mike McCarthy for horrendous Cowboys finish
Green Bay Packers fans relished in former head coach Mike McCarthy having another horrendous finish to the Dallas Cowboys’ season.
Green Bay Packers fans tried to warn Dallas Cowboys fans about Mike McCarthy.
After his firing midway through the 2018 season by the Packers, McCarthy found a way to Dallas, as owner Jerry Jones hired him to replace Jason Garrett. Even though the Cowboys have made it to the playoffs two of three years with McCarthy at the helm, they are at the same spot as they were when Garrett was at the helm on the sidelines — an NFC Championship Game berth.
On Sunday, the Cowboys fell to the San Francisco 49ers 19-12 to once again fall in the Divisional Round. This is also the second consecutive year in which the Cowboys were eliminated by the 49ers. It certainly didn’t help that McCarthy’s clock management and play-calling once again failed to get the job done.
Let’s just say that Packers fans were happy with what they saw — their former head coach losing in the playoffs on another team.
Packers fans troll Cowboys, Mike McCarthy for another disastrous playoff exit
Last year, the Cowboys lost to the 49ers in the Wild Card Round, and it ended with Dak Prescott running up the middle of the field with no timeouts remaining, and having the clock run out on them when trying to spike the football.
This time around, the Cowboys ended their season on a final play dialed up by McCarthy and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore — lining up Ezekiel Elliott at center and setting up for a bunch of lateral passes to try and secure the game-tying touchdown. Instead, Elliott was crushed as soon as he hiked the football, and wide receiver KaVontae Turpin was tackled once he caught Prescott’s pass, allowing the time to expire.
It certainly didn’t help that Prescott didn’t have a good game either. He had two interceptions and that number could have been higher had the 49ers not dropped them. Plus, he looked lost at points late in the game. But, DeMeco Ryan’s defense limited the Cowboys to just 282 yards of offense the entire game.
Now, McCarthy is 0-4 against the 49ers in the playoffs. That’s far from ideal.
Even though Cowboys fans may want a change at head coach, Jones is still sticking by McCarthy. Cowboys fans are miserable, while Packers fans are having a great time on social media trolling them.
