Tre’Davious White injured after scary collision between Bills DBs

Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White and safety Jordan Poyer exited late in their Divisional Round game after a helmet-to-helmet collision.

The Buffalo Bills got off to a scary start to their Divisional Round game against the Cincinnati Bengals. They trailed 14-0 early in the first quarter after quarterback Joe Burrow was a perfect 9-for-9 on all of his pass attempts. Even though the Bills were seemingly about to make a comeback, the Bengals pulled ahead late with a 24-10 lead in the second half.

During Cincinnati’s offensive drive in the start of the third quarter, Burrow targeted wide receiver Tee Higgins on a deep pass on the outside towards the end zone. Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White and safety Jordan Poyer were covering, but the two collided when attempting to breakup Higgins’ attempted reception. During the collision, White and Poyer both hit each other in the helmet.

Both exited the game to get checked out by Buffalo’s medical staff for head injuries.

CBS broadcast cameras caught Poyer jogging to the locker room with members of the Bills’ training staff. Minutes later, White was spotted heading into the tunnel to receive further evaluation.

White eventually made his return, while Poyer was officially ruled out for the rest of the game.

This was not ideal for the Bills, considering they were already thin in the secondary. Losing their top options at corner and safety in a win-or-go-home game is a huge hurdle for them to overcome.

For Buffalo, they watched as Cincinnati extended their lead to 27-10 after a 20-yard field goal made by Evan McPherson.

Buffalo’s season officially came to an end, as that score held until the game clock hit triple zeroes.
