Is Britain Covey playing in Super Bowl 57? Latest Eagles injury update
The latest Eagles injury update before Super Bowl 57 sounds like good news for Britain Covey, the punt returner who has Philly’s lone injury designation.
The Eagles are coming into Super Bowl 57 about as healthy as they could be with just one player holding an injury designation.
That’s punt returner and receiver Britain Covey, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the NFC Championship Game. He was listed as questionable, much like the cable and internet for a bunch of Philadelphians before the game.
Covey isn’t the most important player in a Philadelphia uniform on Super Bowl Sunday, but every extra bit of health could be the difference between victory and defeat in such a huge game. You truly never know which player will make the big play that changes the game.

Covey did a workout on the field in Glendale a few hours before kickoff and looked to be moving okay.
There was even better news for the return man when the Eagles inactive were announced. Greg Ward, who was called up from the practice squad as a potential replacement for Covey, was listed among the inactives while Covey was not. That’s a decent sign that the lead punt returner will be good to go.
Of course, we won’t know until Covey takes the field against the Chiefs. He averaged 9.3 yards per punt return in the regular season. He also had 20.6 yards per return on 10 kickoffs.
The Eagles revealed more good news with their inactives list ahead of the game. Punter Arryn Siposs will be back handling punts after missing six games with an ankle injury. He averaged 45.6 yards per punt in 13 games during the regular season. Brett Kern, who had stepped in for Siposs during his absence, is inactive for the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs also released their inactive list with an update on running back Clyde Edwards-Heliare.
