Tyreek Hill comes to Patrick Mahomes’ defense despite Super Bowl halftime deficit

Tyreek Hill has put all his faith in his former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes coming out of halftime in Super Bowl 57.

Despite trailing the Philadelphia Eagles by 10 points at the half, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill knows all too well what Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs‘ offense are capable of.

Mahomes has dealt with an ankle injury throughout much of the postseason. He seemed to have aggravated it considerably in the Chiefs’ final offense series before halftime. While some people had their doubts that he was going to be able to return, this is the Super Bowl!

Though the State Farm Stadium field of play has been less than stellar, Mahomes can overcome it as the NFL MVP.

This is why the Dolphins’ star wideout is putting all his faith in No. 15 to give the Chiefs a chance.

After Rihanna put on one heck of a halftime show, Mahomes and the Chiefs offense responded with a methodical 75-yard touchdown drive to bring the Kansas City deficit down to only three points. A big reason why the Chiefs trailed Philadelphia through two quarters was the Eagles’ ball-control offense and sizable time-of-possession advantage. It helped keep Mahomes off the field.

Overall, the game does slow down in the final minutes. Nobody may be better equipped to orchestrate a game-winning drive inside of two minutes than the reigning NFL MVP. Of course, the Eagles defense is menacing and should play a full four quarters. Regardless, we do fully recognize that Mahomes is not playing anywhere close to 100 percent in this title bout.

Ultimately, these types of games are made for players just like Mahomes. These big stages are where legends are made and legacies are forged. Mahomes already has one Super Bowl MVP on his resume, but a second would put him in rarified air. He may already be a lock to earn Canton enshrinement, but we may not even be a third of the way through his illustrious football career.

As long as Mahomes is upright and able to play solid football, the Chiefs will have a chance to win.
