Micah Parsons recruiting former All-Pro to Cowboys with bold prediction

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons made a pitch to a potential All-Pro free agent to join the team for a run to Super Bowl 58.

The chase to Super Bowl 58 officially begins now. After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl 57 on Sunday, teams will prepare for a long offseason, where they have the chance to retool their rosters in hopes that this will be enough to lead them to a Lombardi Trophy.

Ahead of Super Bowl 57, Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell put to rest any talks of retirement during an appearance on NFL Network, saying that he’s coming back for his 16th season. Later on in the night, Campbell tweeted out that he “really want[s] to play in Super Bowl 58.”

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons responded to Campbell’s tweet, saying “better put a star on your helmet big bro.”

Very confident words from Parsons.

Every year, the Cowboys plan on making a run to the Super Bowl. Sadly for them, that hasn’t happened since the 1995 season. They haven’t made it to the big game, or even the NFC Championship Game, since then. The Cowboys made it to the Divisional Round this year but lost to the San Francisco 49ers by the score of 19-12.

Parsons has let it be known that he would like to see the Cowboys adding a defensive lineman this offseason, notably saying that he would like the team to sign Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne in free agency. So, is Campbell a possibility?

Campbell is still under contract with the Ravens for the 2023 season after signing a two-year, $12.5 million pact. However, he carries a $9.4 million cap hit for next season, so he could be a release candidate, or the Ravens could restructure his deal. So, his status with the Ravens is still to be determined.

This past season, Campbell recorded 36 combined tackles (18 solo, 18 assisted), 14 quarterback hits, four tackles for loss, two passes defensed, and two forced fumbles in 14 games.

Parsons let Campbell know that if he wants to play in Super Bowl 58 next year, join the Cowboys.
