The Kansas City Chiefs should select this local product in the 2023 NFL Draft

The Kansas City Chiefs should look to draft this local product from Kansas State.

If I told you that the world-champion Kansas City Chiefs could get even more talented through this year’s NFL Draft would you believe me?

The Chiefs will have the opportunity to take local product Felix Anudike-Uzomah from Kansas State. Felix is a 6-foot-4 defensive end that is projected as a second-round pick.

If the Kansas State product is available when the Chiefs are on the clock in the 2nd or 3rd round, I believe the Chiefs should select him.

Here are a few reasons why the Chiefs should select Felix Anudike-Uzomah.

Coming off a Super Bowl win, the Chiefs offense will return most of its starters. Last season, the Chiefs had the most yards of total offense by any team in the NFL, with over 7,000 yards. The Chiefs also scored 29.2 points per game essentially scoring at any given time. Last season’s offensive stats indicate the Chiefs don’t have to look to draft an offensive player early in the draft. Isiah Pacheco is an offensive player that the Chiefs found in the 7th round that helped them secure the Super Bowl win.

If the Chiefs wanted to select a local product Felix would be the perfect option because of his defensive position. The Chiefs defense was 2nd in the NFL last season with 55 sacks. Felix would not have the pressure to be instantly great, instead, he would have the opportunity to learn and be around some of the NFL’s best pass rushers.

Felix would be able to learn from an NFL great like Chris Jones, a player who has openly spoken out about how having a teammate as a mentor helped him as an NFL rookie. Now, he can pay it forward.

Felix has NFL size and although he only had 8.5 sacks last season compared to 11 the year before, his presence and force were shown. As he was awarded the Big 12 player of the year for the 2022 season.

The Chiefs have the ability to bring the best out of Felix with their already great defensive line and should keep him close to where he played his college ball.
