Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce keep Chiefs Super Bowl party going in Vegas

It’s the start of the offseason for many NFL teams — just not for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who have apparently been partying non-stop for the last several weeks.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce make an all-time great quarterback-tight end duo. They also probably make an all-time great partying duo, dutifully living by the slogan, “Work hard, win a few Super Bowls, and party hard.”

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles feels far behind in the rearview mirror given the recent stir and commotion of the NFL offseason. Aaron Rodgers went into the dark. Lamar Jackson is waiting impatiently for his money. The Bears have to make a decision that could screw up their future, but perhaps not as badly as the Dallas Cowboys will screw up theirs.

As teams sort out important dates and deadlines, Patrick Mahomes and Co. are having one of the most memorable — or maybe un-memorable, depending on their liquor of choice — months of their lives.

Mahomes, Kelce, and a handful of other Chiefs players were spotted at a nightclub in Las Vegas continuing their wild Super Bowl celebrations. It wasn’t enough to see Mahomes hand off the Lombardi Trophy, drunk Tom Brady-style, to an unsuspecting fan in the crowds. Why enjoy one night of debauchery in The Valley when you can enjoy an even better night in Sin City?

Two weeks after the win, Mahomes took the Chiefs party bus to Las Vegas, also known as the home of the fourth-place AFC West team. Based on the few details that were released, it seemed like quite the legendary event.

There was a football-themed cake, red and yellow confetti, oversized LED signs. There was bottle service from an exclusive VIP area and the esteemed company of The Chainsmokers, who are basically part of the team now. There was Travis Kelce aggressively taking the mic, and instead of dissing Cincinnati’s mayor he told everyone to celebrate and then sprayed a sold-out crowd with fancy champagne.

Mahomes and Kelce were joined by a diverse group of Chiefs players from newly initiated rookies (Skyy Moore, Isiah Pacheco) to players just along for the ride (Melvin Gordon) to notorious Tik Tok boy JuJu Smith-Schuster. Is the Chiefs squad just one massive unhinged frat house? Who cares?

Lots and lots of bubbly. “We are the Champions” blasting in the background. Absolutely no sense of time or discretion. This is what Super Bowl dreams are made of.
