Selena Gomez Is Cheery in a Pink Puffer Coat in First Appearance Since Hailey Bieber TikTok Drama
Some people on TikTok may still be unpacking all the Hailey Bieber, Kylie Jenner, and Selena Gomez comment drama from last week (and finding new possible drama in Bieber’s Instagram Stories), but Gomez signaled yesterday that she has moved forward and onto bigger, brighter things. The actress was photographed wearing an excellent Miu Miu pink puffer coat over a red dress while on the set of her hit show Only Murders in the Building in New York City. Gomez was all smiles and even told fans of her new music, “it’s gonna come, babes.”
Gomez’s appearance comes after she missed the Screen Actors Guild Awards over the weekend, likely because she is shooting the third season of her series on the East Coast. However, she, Steve Martin, and Martin Short pre-recorded a segment for the show to celebrate their nominations and the guild.
Last week, Gomez briefly quit TikTok after her comments went viral on posts where fans discussed their theories about Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner possibly throwing shade at Gomez. She reactivated her account shortly after and has been active on her Instagram, most recently sharing a photo of co-star Jesse Williams on set with her.
She has not addressed the continued discussion over Bieber or Jenner’s treatment of her nor does she really need to, given the statement she shared before she left TikTok.
Gomez gave her honest thoughts at the time on a TikTok live about the drama and how she’s “too old” for this stuff. “I’m very happy, I’m so blessed, I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world, and I just couldn’t be happier,” she started. “And I’m good. I love the way I am. I don’t care, I’m big, I’m not—I don’t care. I love who I am. And yeah, I’m gonna be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. And I’m 30, I’m too old for this, so. But I love you guys so much! And I will see you guys sooner than later, I just… I’m just gonna just take a break from everything.”
Gomez previously spoke to Vanity Fair about how TikTok was the only social media app she had on her phone. “The only thing I have on my phone is TikTok because I find it to be a little less hostile,” she said. “There are wonderful things about social media—connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories. But usually that’s filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Everything I do I send to my assistant who posts them. As far as comments, my team will put together a few things that are encouraging.”
