Former teammate begs Steelers to reunite him with Kenny Pickett
Jordan Addison would love to play with Kenny Pickett as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Reunited would feel so good for former Pitt star Jordan Addison going to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Addison spent last season catching passes from Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams at USC. During the year prior, Addison did extraordinary things with Kenny Pickett at Pitt. Addison brought home the Biletnikoff and became a household name in the process. He is every bit the first-round prospect coming out, but it may be wishful thinking for the Steelers to draft the former Pitt star.
Then again, you can never put a price on continuity. Just look at the Cincinnati Bengals in-division.
Here is Addison grinning from ear to ear about the prospects of playing with Pickett in the NFL.
Pittsburgh should go with a defensive back in the first round, but they could use a wide receiver…
Jordan Addison would love nothing more than catching balls from Kenny Pickett
Don’t overlook the good thing the Bengals have going on in-division. Joe Burrow was a major advocate for getting Ja’Marr Chase to the Queen City. He may need better protection to ultimately survive in the NFL’s black and blue division, but Cincinnati does not go to back-to-back AFC Championship Games to take on the likes of Patrick Mahomes without selecting Chase in 2021.
Given that Pickett seems to be the guy in Pittsburgh, the best thing the Steelers can do is put him in advantageous situations to succeed. He is not the next Joe Montana like Burrow, but Pickett appears to be a more athletic version of Matt Ryan or Jared Goff. Simply put, you can win a ton of games with him as your franchise quarterback, and maybe get to the Super Bowl if the stars align?
Truth be told, the Steelers could be looking at trading up for Oregon’s Christian Gonzalez or settling for Georgia’s Kelee Ringo to solidify the back-end of their defense. They could also be in line to draft Ringo’s UGA teammate Broderick Jones to fortify their front five. Then again, we know what Pickett-to-Addison can do. That is win ACC titles. Surely, George Pickens would be down.
It is merely wishful thinking, but the Steelers will sink or swim depending on how Pickett plays.
