The Philadelphia Eagles have seen its fair share of great players, but some weren’t so great in the City of Brotherly Love. Let’s take a look at the strangest in history.

The Philadelphia Eagles made a trip to the Super Bowl in 2023. Players flocked to the Eagles this season since they were one of the championship favorites. Going into next season, the Eagles are the top favorite prior to free agency.

This past season, we’ve seen legends like Ndamukong Suh, James Bradberry, Robert Quinn, and Gardner Minshew. They all had their best days elsewhere but came to the Eagles to play for a contender. While Suh likely makes a lot of sense for this list, his presence on the current roster makes it hard to add to a list of surprises.

Many times, these star players fail in Philadelphia. It’s a very hard market to thrive in. This city demands greatness, especially from its stars. Being really good usually isn’t good enough, and that pressure can get to a star that comes from Tennessee or Indianapolis. One star that comes to mind signed a huge contract from a division rival.

These NFL legends made brief appearances for the Eagles that you’ve probably already forgotten

3. DeMarco Murray

DeMarco Murray was great with the Dallas Cowboys. He led the league in rushing in 2014. Then he became a free agent. He signed a five-year deal with the Eagles that offseason. Things went so terribly, he only lasted one.

Murray ran for 702 yards in 15 games in 2015. He eventually got benched, losing the starting role to Darren Sproles. It was a complete disaster.

What makes it worse is the Eagles traded LeSean McCoy to add Murray. McCoy and the Eagles didn’t always have the best relationship, but this was clearly a downgrade. Murray was a complete failure in Philadelphia. Now, it’s just weird to see him in midnight green.
