Cryptic Aaron Rodgers tweet only raises more questions

An Aaron Rodgers tweet on Monday night didn’t provide any clarity as the Jets and Packers both await a decision from the quarterback.

All day on Monday, fans in the NFL wanted to hear from Aaron Rodgers. When he finally spoke, he just confused and infuriated people more.

Here’s what the Packers quarterback tweeted at 10:43 p.m. ET: “SULLLLLL.”

Two crying-with-laughter emojis completed the 11-character tweet.

What does the Aaron Rodgers tweet mean?

Take your guess at what Rodgers meant by “SULLLLLL.”

Some on Twitter speculated that he was referencing hero pilot Sully Sullenberger and just missed the “Y.” Sullenberger famously crash-landed a plane in the middle of the Hudson River without losing any passengers. And the Hudson River is, of course, in New York.

So maybe he’s talking about the Jets?

The dictionary shows that “Sull” when used as a noun means “plow.” When used as an intransitive verb it means “to be sullen.”

So maybe he’s getting into farming…or he’s in a bad mood.

At this point, trying to make sense of Rodgers is more trouble than it’s worth, especially because he’s done his fair share of trolling.

Rodgers is eventually going to have to make a decision on his NFL future, whether it’s to retire, go back to Green Bay or request a trade to the Jets.

Fans and media briefly thought there was a resolution to the whole thing earlier on Monday, the first day of NFL free agency, but that quickly gave way to more waiting. Even a Jets receiver were commented on the drawn-out process and the conflicting reports.

Who knows what’ll come next as this saga continues.
