NFL free agency: What is the legal tampering period?
The NFL free agency legal tampering period officially started at 12 p.m. ET on Monday.
During this period, NFL teams can speak with any player in the 2023 free agent class and can begin contract negotiations with them. Team cannot officially sign players until 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 15.
When does NFL free agency start?
NFL free agency officially starts at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 15. At that point, any player on an expiring contract can be signed by any team.
The only thing to note is that teams have to be under the cap to sign free agents.
