Watch Emily Blunt Hilariously Crash the Rock’s Oscars Interview After He Called Her Out

It’s been a few years since folks saw Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock“ Johnson onscreen together in Disney’s Jungle Cruise. But it seems like their friendship has remained intact. Still, the actress found herself stunned while crashing her former co-star’s latest interview when she heard what he had to say about her.

Although the duo wasn’t nominated at the 2023 Oscars, they were both in attendance to present the Best Animated Feature Film award during Hollywood’s biggest night. As the Rock spoke with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet about walking onstage alongside his friend, he noticed Emily giving her own interview next to him. Realizing the situation, the Devil Wears Prada star crashed the Rock’s conversation and in a twist, he called her out with a comment she didn’t see coming.

“So, they were just asking me ‘Who’s the most talented, most brilliant actor you’ve ever worked with,’” the Rock told Emily, who immediately quipped with, “Nicole Kidman—where is she?” But he surprised her when he said, “No, no. I said Emily Blunt. Isn’t that right?”

Not expecting the kind compliment, Emily appeared stunned before quickly recovering and she had her own question for the former WWE wrestler. “Well, that’s incredibly nice. Have you worked with any other actresses?” she said during the ET segment.

Like the good friend he is, the Rock responded, “None that I care about after you, no.”

After seeing them ribbing on each other while promoting their 2021 adventure film, fans shared how much they still support their ongoing friendship.

“The Rock and Emily [meet] again,” one person commented on YouTube. “I love this duo,” a different user agreed. “Frank and Lily reunited!” another added, referencing their characters in Jungle Cruise.

So, how did the two’s camaraderie come to be? According to the Rock, he sent Emily a personal video to convince her to join the fantasy adventure project. Though he hadn’t crossed paths with the British native before, he “always admired her as an actor” and enjoyed her “cool and very, very charming” personality when she appeared on talk shows.

“I must have shot [the video] about five or six times because I had not communicated with Emily yet,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in July 2021. “I had not even met her. And I wanted to let her know via this video just how important she was to this movie and how I only wanted her in this movie. And it was great.”
