Hunter Schafer Wore a Feather as a Top to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party (and Zendaya Loved It)

Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer is making her mark as one of Hollywood’s most exciting, best-dressed young stars—and her appearance on Oscar night proves it. Though she wasn’t at the official ceremony, she attended the star-studded Vanity Fair Oscar Party in an angelic Ann Demeulemeester fall/winter 2023 look, featuring a feather-shaped bandeau and a silk floor-length skirt that fell from her hips to the carpet. Her mermaid-length blonde waves completed the celestial ensemble.

Law Roach, who styled Schafer for the occasion, proudly posted his work on Instagram and caught the attention of his most famous client and collaborator, Zendaya. The Emmy winner cheered on both Roach and her Euphoria co-star in the comments. “STUNNING,” she wrote, along with a string of heart-eye emojis.

While Zendaya wasn’t at the Oscars herself, she showed her support for Schafer from afar. While the two castmates play friends onscreen, they also share a strong bond in real life. “What we do for a living is important, but the friendship we share is more important,” Zendaya told Harper’s BAZAAR of her and Schafer’s relationship.

Sunday night’s red carpet win is a luxe departure from Schafer’s more casual style—a sartorial strategy to avoid getting noticed. “It depends on the setting, but I get recognized pretty much every day,” she told ELLE UK. “I used to get really dressed up. I still love doing that. But I know that now comes with more attention. So I’ve learned to keep it a little more low-key.”

Her personal style can usually be described as “assassin,” “12, as in 12-year-old boy,” and “anime,” she told i-D in a video last year. We can’t wait to see more of it.
