Justin Fields’ first comments on DJ Moore trade will hype up Bears fans

Justin Fields didn’t hide his delight when he found out that the Chicago Bears acquired DJ Moore in the blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers.

When the Chicago Bears traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers, they got a massive haul, including wide receiver DJ Moore.

Needless to say, quarterback Justin Fields was thrilled and didn’t even try to contain his excitement when he was asked about it.

“I’m excited to add a guy like DJ to our offense,” Fields said via Kevin Patra of NFL.com. “He’s proven he can be an explosive playmaker in this league, and I look forward to getting to work with him and the rest of our receivers so we can take the next step as an offense. I’ve gotten to know him a little bit and I know he’s ready to put the work in to help our team win. I can’t wait to get our whole group on the field together and see how we can put it all together.”

That’s not short. That means something. Clearly, Fields has so much respect for Moore, and the thought of them working together to establish a top quarterback-wide receiver combo in Chicago is tantalizing.

DJ Moore brings a new element to the Chicago Bears, including some draft capital.

Chicago didn’t just get a new wide receiver in the trade with Carolina. They got some picks to work with, and from the outskirts, it is safe to assume that the Bears will likely trade those picks again to get more picks.

Even with their free agent signings like guard Nate Davis, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, and defensive end DeMarcus Walker, the holes on the roster are still gaping. However, by making trades and signings like the ones listed above, the process continues to chug on instead of veering off track, which is what the Ryan Pace era can be best defined as in the Windy City.

General Manager Ryan Poles seems to be doing things differently, but still, the results have to show for it. For now, it is good to see Justin Fields embracing DJ Moore, and hopefully, for their sake, they will do it in the endzone come next season.
