NFL rumors: Insider reveals Odell Beckham Jr.’s four biggest suitors

There are a handful of suitors who could be in the mix to sign Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency.

After having missed all of last year due to injury, Odell Beckham Jr. will be signing here shortly.

Although the days of Beckham getting massive, multi-year contracts are probably over with due to his injury history, he still can provide a contending franchise with great value and production in any receiving corps.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz of The Score reported on Saturday afternoon the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets are all in on Beckham.

All four franchises are certainly playoff-caliber and could use Beckham in their receiving rooms.

Let’s discuss which of these four teams makes the most sense to add Beckham in his free agency.

NFL rumors: Odell Beckham Jr. is drawing major interest from these four teams

At this point in his career, Beckham can essentially pick and choose where he wants to go. It does not serve him to sign a massive deal with one franchise because he cannot afford to be tied down somewhere he does not really belong, like the Cleveland Browns previously. Let’s assess if the Ravens, Cowboys, Chiefs or Jets would be the best fit for Beckham in his high-profile free agency.

Baltimore is a well-run organization, but when have the Ravens ever been a place where receivers go and thrive? Beckham may be able to make it work with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, but the idea of that partnership is probably better than the real thing. Odds are Beckham would be joining a playoff team in Baltimore, but until we have a better grasp on what Jackson is doing, this is fine…

Dallas makes sense for many reasons. There is not a bigger brand in football than the Cowboys. Beckham starred previously in-division with the New York Giants. Dak Prescott is certainly capable of getting Beckham the ball with greater regularity. This is also a team that should be in the mix to represent the NFC in next year’s Super Bowl. However, there is nowhere to hide on the Cowboys.

Kansas City is probably the best place for Beckham to win now, and do it most prolifically. The Chiefs are not going anywhere. They will have a fantastic chance repeating as Super Bowl champions. Patrick Mahomes will definitely be able to get him the ball. Beckham would also be a fantastic addition for the Chiefs to offset losing JuJu Smith-Schuster to the New England Patriots.

New York is only a good fit if Aaron Rodgers 100 percent is going there. The Jets are going to be an absolute lightning rod and a content machine. Not sure how many games they will win, but they will be a better football team with the Rodgers-to-Beckham connection. We should also point out Beckham has absolutely no fear in playing in the United States’ biggest media market of them all.

Ultimately, Baltimore is the worst fit of the bunch. Unless the Ravens pay him the most, do not go there. New York could be fun, but that could also be toxic as hell. Frankly, Dallas and Kansas City make the most sense when it comes to branding and competitive purposes. If the Cowboys or the Chiefs are willing to bring in a superstar No. 2 wide receiver, then maybe they could strike a deal?

Beckham will be back in the league next season and expect for him to sign with a major contender.
