NFL rumors: Lamar Jackson’s next possible team, who is out on Ezekiel Elliott?
NFL rumors suggest where Lamar Jackson could end up and where Ezekiel Elliott will not.
The most recent batch of NFL rumors has Lamar Jackson tied to a team outside of the Baltimore Ravens, as well as one team who is out on Ezekiel Elliott in his extended NFL free agency.
Elliott announced last week somewhat of a wishlist of places where he would like to play. This was certainly news to the likes of the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Jets, who were among the teams listed. As for Jackson, he let the entire world know that he requested a trade with the Baltimore brass on March 2. He was tagged non-exclusively, so we will see how that transpires.
It’s time to roll up your sleeves and dive head-first into another healthy helping of NFL rumors!
NFL rumors: Robert Saleh confirms Jets still all-in on fulfilling Aaron Rodgers’ wishlist
New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed at the NFL meetings on Monday that the franchise will do what it takes to satisfy Aaron Rodgers’ trade demands from the Green Bay Packers. This would include loading up the receiving corps with not only some of his Packers guys like Allen Lazard, but potentially signing former Los Angeles Rams star receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Saleh made it a point to say the Jets have interest in Beckham, but this is really up to Joe Douglas.
It seems crazy, but for the first time in well over a decade, the Jets are giving off the vibe of kind of knowing what they are doing. Although waiting this late into the free agency and not having anything concrete other than Rodgers’ word from The Pat McAfee Show is a bold strategy, give the Jets props for sticking to their guns over this. They are not going to start Zach Wilson in 2023.
The Jets are one competent quarterback away from being a playoff team in the deep AFC. Adding a player of Rodgers’ stature could get them even further in the postseason. Although Beckham is not going to be their No. 1 receiving option, we have seen him take over games in recent seasons. Keep in mind how he took over the Super Bowl before tearing his ACL only two postseasons ago.
The Rodgers-to-Beckham connection could help propel the Jets into a top-four team in the AFC.
