Anya Taylor-Joy Wears Bubblegum Pink Racing Suit to 'Mario Bros.' Premiere

On Saturday night, Anya Taylor-Joy really got into the spirit of her new film at the premiere of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in Los Angeles. Taylor-Joy voices the iconic character Princess Peach, and the role has changed her realtionship to the color pink forever.

While she wasn’t wearing a princess gown or crown, she was clad head-to-toe in a bubblegum hue, wearing a leather jumpsuit reminiscent of NASCAR uniform by Christian Dior. She paired it with even brighter pink boots that came up to her knees featuring a thick sole, and a pair of matching biker gloves.

The actress had her long bleached blonde hair down as she playfully posed for the cameras, wearing dark pink lipstick and smokey dark eye shadow. She recently said that playing Princess Peach has opened her up to new hobbies.

“So now I am a gamer, and it’s really fun,” she told Modern Luxury San Diego. “Ideally, I like playing at arcades, because, again, it’s like cinema; I love the ceremony. I’ll go with a whole bunch of friends. And we’ll just spend hours at the arcade.”

Taylor-Joy just finished production on Furiosa, the prequel to George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. She’ll be playing a younger version of Charlize Theron’s character from that movie. In an interview with IndieWire’s Jude Dry, Taylor-Joy said, “It’s the dirtiest and the bloodiest I have ever been, which is saying something, genuinely saying something. Any time I get to be dirty or bloody and not perfectly prim and pretty, I’m just having a ball, that’s where I feel most comfortable. So yeah, Furiosa was definitely right up my street.”

From cartoons to carnage. The Mario Bros. cast is filled out by some other big stars, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
