Tyreek Hill pledges to be Chiefs fans ‘worst enemy’ when he returns to Arrowhead
Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill doesn’t harbor any resentment toward his former team, but he’s still a competitor, first and foremost.
Two Januarys ago, then-Kansas City Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill smoked his defender and ran into the end zone while throwing up a peace sign in one of the most unbelievable moments of the AFC Championship against the Bills (there were quite a few of those).
The Chiefs went on to beat the Bills in an overtime thriller, and Hill’s fourth-quarter touchdown run remains one of the most memorable images from that rollercoaster of a game. The smugness. The nerve. The feeling of being on top of the world.
When Hill returns to Arrowhead in 2023, this time on the side opposite the Chiefs, that peace sign will take on a whole new meaning.
Hill, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins in the 2021 offseason, shared an intimidating message for Chiefs fans on a podcast recently, telling them that he would “hate” to throw up the peace sign again.
Chiefs defenders have been warned.
Tyreek Hill is entering his villain era, prepares for his climactic Arrowhead return
Hill also said he would be the Chiefs’ “worst enemy” that day, and he indirectly called out Chiefs head coach Andy Reid telling him to “change the signals,” since Hill is very with Kansas City’s offense. Guess that means more Corndog, Cheeseburger, and Funnel Cake plays are coming.
It’s only *checks calendar* the beginning of April, and Hill has already started trash-talking. Fellow big-mouth Eli Apple will probably jump on the Chiefs-hating wagon next, though he may still be full from eating his words after Kansas City beat the Cincinnati Bengals in last season’s AFC Championship.
It seems like the Chiefs are everybody’s most loathed team, which is to be expected for a team that has won two Super Bowls in the last four years. Everybody can’t stand how good they are. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid in the same franchise is just unfair.
This upcoming season, the Dolphins will get their shot to topple the kings of the AFC at a date to be decided. What’s certain is that the Chiefs and Dolphins will play each other at Arrowhead Stadium, and Hill will be itching for his opportunity to stick it to Big Red and Chiefs Kingdom.
Even if the Chiefs do lose in this highly anticipated AFC matchup that, mind you, is still months away, they won’t have too many regrets about trading their star wideout in order to keep the team competitive in the long term. It got them a Super Bowl, didn’t it?
