Will Levis vs. CJ Stroud vs. Anthony Richardson: Who will be second quarterback drafted?
It appears that the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft is set with Bryce Young now -1200 at consensus sportsbooks to go first overall and be the first quarterback off the board, but what happens after that?
The 2023 NFL Draft is set to be a chaotic one, starting as early as No. 2 where it’s up in the air what the Houston Texans will do. Houston was rumored to be all in on Bryce Young, but since he is likely off the board, it appears that the team can go either quarterback or pass rusher, or trade out of the pick all together.
The three quarterback prospects in question after Young are Will Levis, C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson. Who will go first? There’s a ton up in the air one week out from the NFL Draft.
That is opening up plenty of scenarios in this draft, starting with questions around where the top quarterback prospects go after Young. Let’s break it down by checking out the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 pick odds to see which quarterback will go first between Levis, Stroud and Richardson.
2023 NFL Draft No. 2 pick odds
Stroud and Levis are neck-and-neck behind pass rusher Will Anderson to be the No. 2 pick. However, it appears that Levis is the top quarterback choice for the Texans, if they take one.
There’s been no serious connection between Stroud and the Texans throughout the process, and it’s tough to find any positive buzz around the Ohio State quarterback at the moment. In my eyes, if the Texans go QB, it’s Levis.
2023 NFL Draft No. 3 pick odds
Another tricky one considering a trade could be in play for Arizona, and the odds reflect that. If Arizona stays put, Anderson or Texas Tech pass rusher Tyree Wilson are very likely to be the selection, another chance for the quarterback trio to slip.
Richardson and Stroud are each +250, tied with Anderson at the top, but of course we don’t know who is trading up so we can’t reliably sort through the options, but with the negative sentiment around Stroud, who was most recently visiting with the Falcons, who aren’t picking until No. 8, I believe a trade up would be for Richardson.
2023 NFL Draft No. 4 pick odds
A quarterback will go here, but which one?
Levis has been rumored to at the top of the Colts draft board for much of the process, and the odds again show this with the Kentucky QB -110 to be the pick. However, Levis could be off the board at No. 2, which would pave the way for either Stroud or Richardson.
It may just be smokescreens, but the drumbeat is building for Levis to be off the board no later than pick No. 4 (Levis’ over/under is 6.5 with a heavy premium on the under) at either No. 2 or No. 4.
