Rihanna Wore a Sheer Red Maternity Bodysuit and Skirt Out in New York City

Rihanna’s big, bold maternity style tour has moved from Paris to New York City, just ahead of the Met Gala. The singer was photographed getting dinner with boyfriend A$AP Rocky in the Big Apple on Sunday night after having been captured for days by paparazzi in France. For her date look, Rihanna wore a high-neck sheer Alaïa bodysuit over matching skirt pants from the fashion house. She accessorized with a red Gucci bag, red Saint Laurent sandal heels, and Messika jewelry.

Rihanna hasn’t directly confirmed whether she going to the Met Gala next Monday, but she hinted it in Paris, particularly when she wore a vintage patchwork Fendi coat designed by Karl Lagerfeld. This year’s Met Gala is paying tribute to the late designer with its Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty theme.

The singer also shared a photo of her son decked out in a Fendi outfit in Paris. Rihanna spoke to British Vogue earlier this year about her approach to dressing her baby boy, who turns one next month.

“I like to dress him in things that don’t look like baby clothes,” she said. “I like to push it. I put him in floral stuff. I put him in hot pink. I love that. I think that fluidity in fashion is best. I always shop in the men’s department, you know.”

She revealed she often gets his clothes made: “When you come up with something in your head, half the time it is not available because kids’ clothes are so, they’re sooo boring. I’m like, ‘This is what y’all been doing to these people’s kids all along?’”
