Everything About Queen Elizabeth's Great-Grandchildren
The late Queen Elizabeth had a long reign, serving for nearly 71 years. In her time as a Queen, she was also a mother, then a grandmother, and finally a great-grandmother. She had four children of her own: Princess Anne, King Charles, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. They all went on to have children of their own, and those children are now of an age to have their own kids.
It’s a lot to keep track of, but for fans of the UK royal family, we’ve compiled a list of the Queen’s great-grandchildren and which branch of the royal family they hail from. You might not be able to memorize them all, but this is a good cheat sheet.
Isla and Savannah Phillips: daughters of Peter Phillips, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips’ son
Isla, 11, and Savannah, 12, are the daughters of Peter and Autumn Phillips; Isla joined the family on on March 29, 2012, and her older sister was born on December 29, 2010. They are the first and second grandchildren of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips. They live on Aston Farm, which is part of Anne’s country estate of Gatcombe Park.
Prince George, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte: children of William, King Charles and Princess Diana’s oldest son
William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, welcomed their first child, Prince George, on July 22, 2013. George’s name honors Queen Elizabeth’s father, King George VI. After his dad, George, now 9, is next in line to the throne. Their next child is Princess Charlotte, born on May 2, 2015. Their youngest is Prince Louis, born on April 23, 2018.
The Succession to the Crown Act of 2013 means that Charlotte, 7, is next in line after George to the throne, followed by Louis, 5. Old laws prevented Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth’s second oldest child, from being next in line to the throne after her brother Charles. Birth order now determines succession over gender.
The family moved in 2022 from London’s Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
Mia, Lena, and Lucas Philip Tindall: children of Zara Tindall, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips’ daughter
Zara Tindall and husband Mike Tindall welcomed now nine-year-old daughter Mia Tindall, on January 17, 2014. Zara initially dealt with fertility issues, and Mike told The Sunday Times in 2017 that Mia was their “saving grace” shortly after his wife experienced a miscarriage.
They went on to have two more children, now four-year-old daughter Lena Tindall, who was born on June 18, 2018, and now two-year-old son, Lucas Philip Tindall, born on March 21, 2021. The family recently moved to be closer to Princess Anne, settling in at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire.
August Philip Hawke Brooksbank: son of Princess Eugenie, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s younger daughter
Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank on February 9, 2021. Eugenie is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child, who is due this summer.
The family lives in the town of Old Windsor, though they had been residing in Frogmore Cottage, the previous residence of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor: children of Prince Harry, King Charles and Princess Diana’s younger son
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, welcomed their son Archie Harrison on May 6, 2019. Their second child, a little girl, was born June 4, 2021. Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana was named after the late Princess Diana, her grandmother. She also was given the name Queen Elizabeth used as a child, honoring her lineage.
“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet,” the couple said in a statement. “Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.”
There are not many photos of either of their kids out there, though they occasionally release them for big events, like for Lili’s first birthday that fell during Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. And yes, she’s adorable.
Both children will likely inherit new titles when Charles is officially coronated, becoming Prince and Princess. They live in Montecito, California, where Harry and Meghan moved after stepping back from their duties as working members of the royal family.
Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi: daughter of Princess Beatrice, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s older daughter
Sienna Elizabeth, 1, is the youngest of the Queen’s great-grandchildren at the moment, born on September 18, 2021, to Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi. They moved from their apartments in St. James’s Palace to the Cotswolds in 2022, but also have a home in Italy.
