Dua Lipa Dressed Like a Princess in a Dreamy White Gown at the 2023 Met Gala
As co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, Dua Lipa arrived early and ready to show exactly how the night’s theme should be done. The singer wore vintage Chanel white ball gown dress to honor the museum’s new exhibit Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. She accessorized with a silver pendant Tiffany & Co. necklace and wore her black hair down with slight waves. She truly looked like a princess:
The Met Gala isn’t Lipa’s only big project this first half of the year. The singer surprised the internet last month when she revealed she had secretly been part of the highly-anticipated movie Barbie‘s cast. Lipa will be playing a mermaid Barbie.
Lipa hasn’t said much more about the role yet, although The Daily Mail reported that she is allegedly writing and recording a theme song for the movie. The report sparked the rumor that Lipa is musically involved in the project, although the studio has not confirmed this, and Lipa’s spokesperson declined to comment to the UK tabloid on its report.
Lipa has spoken about work on her next album though. In December, she told Variety that directionally, “the album is different—it’s still pop but it’s different sonically, and there’s more of a lyrical theme. If I told you the title, everything would make sense—but I think we’ll just have to wait.”
She added that the album had taken a different direction since she last gave an update on its status in March 2022. “It’s taken a complete turn as I’ve carried on working, and I really feel now that it’s starting to sound cohesive,” she said. “So I’m going to keep writing in the early months of the new year and see where that takes me.”
